Brandon Bolden commits to Hoyas

John Thompson was preparing for his first official practice of the season Friday night. At the same time, junior forward Brandon Bolden was preparing to commit to the Hoyas.

“We went in the back into Coach Thompson’s office while it was going on,” Bolden said. “It hadn’t kicked off yet. He was definitely happy (when I committed). He was waiting on when I was going to do it.” (more…)

Sophomore Stud Standouts

Atlanta, GAAllerick Freeman and Devarte Watson were in Atlanta this week at the National Soph camp and they did not disappoint the onlookers.  Al Freeman ESPN Top 100 had several rim busting dunks while scoring at will he also mixed in jaw dropping passes to his teammates. While Devarte Watson was becoming a man by blocking everything in sight and dominating the boards.  Watson is a 2013 6’6 PF with a high motor and has several D1 Colleges starting to draw interest.  Freeman made the top 20 All-Star game and was rated top prospect at the camp. While Watson was selected to the top 50 All-Star game.

PG that gives, receives an Offer

Even though Rob Gray is country boy, Georgia State University a big city team didn’t waste any time extending a full scholarship offer to join them in the big city of Atlanta, GA.  Gray who 24ppg as a sophomore and was a key figure to Celtics South 2012 success this past year.  “Rob is one of the most dynamic guards I have ever coached and his basketball IQ is off the charts” Coach Burgess stated.  Rob will lead the nationally ranked Christ School this season as their PG.  When asked how he feels about this offer Rob stated “I appreciate GA State believing in my skills and I want to build a relationship with the staff. I don’t want to get to excited but there is still work to do but it feels good to be wanted.”  Look for Rob Gray to lead Christ School Greenies to their fifth consecutive state championship this year.

12U Celtics Finishes 3rd in the nation

– You don’t have to be a basketball guru to comprehend the remarkable success achieved by the Celtic South 12U Basketball Team. After all, they were one of the most triumphant and successful team in the State of SC this year. This Celtic South team started the season with two losses, but then something happen among these guys because they went on a 33 game winning streak.  They took the Upper state Title, State Title, and finished 3rd in the nation in the YBOA National Championship Tournament in Orlando, FL. Young Cub gets offered by the Bears

It didn’t take long for the 6’4 guard Allerik Freeman to pick up his first major offer.  The offer came in from Coach Scott Drew and his staff from the #4 ranked Baylor Bears who finished in the elite 8 last year in the NCAA tournament. “It feels good to get my first offer, now I got to get back to work” Freeman stated.  Coach Drew’s program has been on the raise ever since he took over 4 years ago and he has multiple players drafted to the NBA within the last few years. Freeman also stated “I love how personable the staff is with me and I really love their style of play especially how they use there guards.”  Several other high major schools that are recruiting Freeman are Clemson, FSU, Wake Forest, Florida, USC and Va Tech. Look for Freeman to pick up a few more offers as the High School season gets under way this winter.
